Welcome to the North Devon Children's Centre
We are 3 Children's Centres working together Barnstaple Children's Centre is located at: Victoria house, sticklepath and Forches; Braunton Children's Centre used different venues around Braunton and Chivenor; and My start Children's Centre works across Ilfracombe; Combe Martin and Linton.
All the centres offer a variety of drop-in activities to encourage early play and learning. These include stay and play, singing and story time sessions. Our drop in groups run on a first come, first serve basis and are free of charge. We warmly welcome all parents and carers with a baby or child under 5 years, including dads, grandparents and childminders.
Parents and carers can also access a range of other useful services from our centres, including health and parenting advice, adult learning opportunities and help to get back into training and employment.
Each of the Children's Centres has its own window where you can see the current activity programme. Please feel free to come across the centres and be part of our activities.
Do I have to pay?
No, all our Children Centre services are fully funded through the grant we recieve from the government via Devon County Council. There are some services that run in our buildings that may ask for a small charge towards resources and other children's centres in some areas may charge for services.
Do I need to Register?
Yes. You can download and print off a registration form by clicking here and bring it with you, or ask for one when attending any of our services.
What can I gain from coming?
There are many benefits from attending The Children's Centres. You will get the opportunity to meet other parents with children of a similar age to yours. Our friendly staff are on hand to answer any questions you might have about the development of your child. As well as this, you will have access to a wide range of local resources through one point of call.
Who can access services?
Anyone living in the areas of any of the Children's Centres with a child under 5 - mums, dads, grandmothers and grandfathers, and anyone else who is a carer of a child under 5.
